Providing as much “human engineering” as technical engineering, we helped PartnerRe go from an intranet where each region managed their own intranet to a centralized, personalized “one PartnreRe” that allows the site to be global and local at the same time.
The PartnerRe intranet is a single, global intranet – their previous site had little “mini intranets” for each country. The home page shows a mix of global and local content. And the navigation is global, with appropriate information (like benefits) localized where needed.
Mega menus expose all content across very few, easy to understand and globally relevant (trimmed/ customized by region) options.
On the old site, the page with time clocks for each office was one of the most popular pages. The mega menu for the office information pages integrates the local time at each office (and the difference for the current logged in user)
WHAT WE DID:
- Solution design
- Interactive strategy
- Site architecture and user experience
- Web implementation and maintenance
- Technical integration
- Usability testing
- Process and project management
PartnerRe is the 8th largest reinsurance company in the world. Their previous intranet basically had sites for each of their locations – while the location administrators liked it and local communication was efficient, the intranet lacked a sense of “one company” and very few people trafficked the home page. Our new solution, built on SharePoint Server 2010, was as much about establishing common ground and consensus building as it was about taking advantage of SharePoint to build a rich, employee-centric experience with the appropriate mix of global and local conten.
